In these difficult times when money are very short for our charity, God continues to show us that He is the provider for all our needs.
Yesterday I went to visit a christian charity based in the nearby town, Calarasi. I ended up returning to Amara with the minibus full of nappies. It should be enough for 2 years of use. That means we will save a lot of money ( 40 pounds/month). It all helps!
As soon as I have arrived at the house, everibody rushed in to help unloading: our boys, little local kids. It gived me a big feeling that we are very much part of the local comunity.
I would like to use the chance to say a big "THANK YOU" to Mr. Dean who runs the Bethany House, for this important donation. May God bless you, your charity and all the kids you look after in Calarasi area.

The 1St edition of " Pancake festival" just happen in Amara. The event was organised by the Amara City Hall and we couldn't miss it.
Therefore, we all got in the minibus and went to the Central Park in Amara. Lots of people, lots of pancakes!
After that we went back to the house and ... surprise!!! More pancakes, this time cooked by Simona, were waiting for us.

On september, the 22nd, I've turned 36 years old. And, as I am part of the big familly at Amara, a surprise party has been organized by the staff & boys.
As soon as I arrived at the house, I could see Sandu at the gate, waiting. He couldn't stop laughing! On the other side of the gate, Fanel was telling him to keep his mouth shut! I figure it out that something was going on! Then, as I walked in, the biggest cake I ever had in my life, was waitting for me. I almost got in to tears!
10 min later, we were all inside, eating the cake. I have to say that it was the best birthday party I ever had.
Thank you , everyone, for the big surprise! Hope I will get to celebrate at least another 20 birthdays at the House!

Because of the financial difficulties, this year (for the first time after 5 years) we couldn't afford to send the boys in to a camp in the mountains.
Still, we managed to send three of our boys (Fanel, Sandu, Gabi) in to a free camp in the mountains. The camp was organized with E.U. funds aiming the social inclusion for disadvantaged groups.
During the three days camp, the boys has to follow a daily programme that would stimulate communication and collaboration in the process of solving given tasks.
For the second day, the task was to get to know the city of Zarnesti by getting guidance from the local people of where the main institutions (hospital, Police, Post Office) are located. Another task was to photograph some animals we would meet in town (dogs, cats).
As the City of Zarnesti is located in a very turistic area, on the 3rd day of the camp we went to visit some of the attractions in the area like the Peles Castle, the Bran Castle, Rasnov Fortress, Valea Cetatii Cave, Dambovicioara Cave.
All together the boys had a great time, with lots of new things and interesting places.

The 1st of June, gave us the opportunity to meet old friends as long as making new one.
We were very happy to see again our friends from Grivita Primary School (they have been visiting us every year since 2007 on this occasion). Like they did in every year, this time they offered products for the house (home made bred, potatoes, cheese, milk, eggs, beans, etc...). Even more, they brought donuts and cakes made by their mothers specially for our boys.
It was a very busy day with lots of visitors. A new group came from Amara Primary School. Even they just graduated their first year in school, we were really surprised to see their dancing skills. Guided by their teacher, they had a live performance of romanian traditional dances. By the time the presentation was over, we all ended up dancing. It was great fun!
After the group left, the party continued with our old friends from the Special Scool in Slobozia
